Grace
Grace is from the Greek word “Karis” which means favour, loving kindness, mercy, or God’s pleasure. In the Old Testament grace was selective. People like Moses (Exo 33:17) found grace before God. Noah (Gen 6:8) found grace in God’s eyes. In the new testament, the fullness of grace came with the coming of Jesus Christ. Jn 1:17 states “For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ”. Prov 16:6a states “By grace or mercy and truth iniquity is purged”.
Grace is a conditional gift. Conditional in the sense that a person cannot continue in sin expecting grace to abound (Rom 6:1). God will not release grace in the midst of disobedience.
